Hyperbariac Chamber Obsession

When you're in the early stages of planning something new, your browser tabs tend to give away the plot. Right now, mine are filled with research on Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) — and for good reason.

First up is CUHMA — the Canadian Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Association. This is where the medical community in Canada sets out evidence-based guidelines, professional training standards, and research on the safe and effective use of HBOT. If you want to understand where hyperbaric therapy fits in modern medicine, this is the place to start.

Then I’ve got O2 Lab open — a company reshaping how people experience hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Their focus isn’t just the technology, it’s the environment: modern, approachable wellness spaces designed to help you heal, recover, and recharge.

And for anyone like me who likes to dig into the logistics, Macy-Pan has been another tab on repeat. They’re a global manufacturer of hyperbaric chambers, offering both soft-shell and hard-shell models for clinics and wellness spaces. The technical side — chamber specs, oxygen controls, safety certifications — is every bit as important as the client experience.

Finally, grounding all of this in official Canadian health guidance is this essential page from Health Canada. If you’ve ever wondered what conditions HBOT is approved for, what safety considerations exist, and where the treatment stands in Canada — this is the definitive resource.

All of this research is part of the process as I explore whether Victoria could benefit from a dedicated hyperbaric therapy clinic. Between medical recovery, brain health, and proactive wellness, it’s a field full of possibility.
